Peru Revisited, Part 2

Here's a picture of Dad and his friend, Randy:

Randy is the pharmacist that goes on the Peru mission trip, and has gone almost every single time. Dad and I were with Randy for Randy's first mission trip, to Honduras, 11 years ago. Has it been that long?!?

Anyway, the sign above them translates: "We are Peru." Funny and fitting on so many levels.

Um... yes, please. I absolutely love Janca Pampa. Very difficult to get to. Very worth it.

Traffic jam!

This road is much, much better than many of the ones higher in the mountains. This is after the mountain pass, in a very remote region of Peru.

This last photo is where we stop for lunch on our way to our "base camp." It's after the scary and unstable mountain pass and is a very rewarding pit stop. I want to live in that house. Seriously.

Do you think UPS would deliver?

Just a side note: I am showing a lot of photos of very rural parts of Peru. However, it should be noted that Peru has large cities (hello, Lima!), seaside towns and jungle villages as well. But because my entire experience is quickly driving through the majority of the country to get to these remote villages and spend time there, that is what the photos are. And that is what my memories of Peru are: not the jungles or Machu Picchu, but the Andes.
